The DMS1 eases the monitoring of audio signals in mixed format installations. Intuitive selection using illuminating push buttons allows the user to switch between stereo analog, AES digital and embedded digital audio signals. An onboard demuxer extracts all four embedded AES groups from a serial digital video signal.
The audio signal is displayed on a stereo LED bar graph VU meter. The analog output of the selected signal, provided on XLR3(M) connectors on the rear panel, is adjustable via the front panel monitor control. This signal is also available through the front panel headset jack which parallels the monitor output.
All connections to the DMS1 are made on the rear panel. Analog audio connects via an XLR3(F) pair, 110 Ohm AES signals connect via an XLR3(F) connector and 75 Ohm connects via a BNC connector.
Auto recognition circuitry detects the source impedance of the AES signal and adjusts the input impedance automatically. Only one AES signal 110 or 75 Ohm should be connected to the DMS1.
The serial digital video signal connects via a 75 Ohm BNC connector, a reclocked copy of the signal is provided on a second BNC connector.
