The AVM4 provides full visual and aural monitoring of signals in a mixed format installation. Occupying two rack units of space, it includes an LED audio level meter, phase indicator, a high resolution LCD video screen and a flat response powered speaker system.

In its standard configuration, the AVM4 accepts four composite video inputs, four AES digital audio inputs (110 or 75 Ohm) and four stereo audio pairs.Using the LED readout, MODE and SOURCE select buttons, it is possible to delegate any one of the four video sources to be monitored simultaneously with any one of the eight (four AES, four analog) audio sources.

As an option, an SDI demuxer may be added to the AVM4.This will allow all four groups of embedded AES audio to be extracted from the serial digital signal and the video may be monitored on the LCD screen. The demux option provides a reclocked copy of the serial digital signal and two composite analog video outputs.

All connections to the AVM4 are made on the rear panel.Video and 75 Ohm AES signals are on BNC, 110 Ohm AES and analog audio signals are on pluggable 3 pin Phoenix connectors.

The unit is normally configured for 115 Volt 60 Hz operation and for accepting NTSC signals. It may be configured for 230 Volt, 50 Hz operation and/or for accepting PAL signals.
