Description

The M6204A is an HD/SDSDI AES/EBU Audio Muxer designed for broadcast use. Depending on which rear module is used the M6204A can insert eight AES/EBU audio signals into either an SD-SDI or HD-SDI signal, or insert 7 AES/EBU audio signals into either an SD-SDI or HD-SDI signal, and give two copies of the SD-SDI or HD-SDI signals out.

The M6204A will embed audio in accordance with SMPTE 272M & SMPTE 299M standards respectively. The M6204A supports 24bit AES audio embedding for HD and 20bit AES audio embedding for SD. In addition the M6204A is Dolby compliant and automatically disables the sample rate conversion on the AES inputs to permit seamless Dolby embedding. Cable equalization and reclocking techniques enable the M6204A to recover the incoming SD-SDI or HD-SDI signal reliably. The M6204A is housed in the openGear DFR8300 series frames.
