The D8207 is a 24 bit digital audio sample rate converter with a dynamic range of 120dB. The D8207 accepts AES input signals with sampling rates from 22kHz to 96kHz. Sample rate conversion ratios range from 1:3 to 3:1.This unit may be synchronized to an external AES/EBU or video reference signal (optional).When an AES/EBU reference (22 to 96kHz) is used, the sample rate of the resulting output signal will be the same as the reference signal.When a video reference signal is used, internal jumpers may be set to generate a 44.1kHz or 48kHz digital output signal. If a reference signal is not present, the D8207 will perform as an ordinary digital distribution amplifier and pass the signal through unaltered.

In 75 Ohm installations the video reference signal may be connected to any D8207 via the BNC termination assembly.The reference is connected to the sixth output BNC. In 110 Ohm installations, the D8207 must be inserted in the most right hand card slot.The video reference is then connected to the frame reference BNC connector. Any D8207 with a reference input may have its reference output jumper set, thereby providing a video reference to other 8200 series cards within the same frame. Please note that any D8207 can be set to ignore the frame reference signal.
